Portland weather Sunday: Here comes another sunny week

Tonight will be cloudy with a low around 37 and a 10 miles per hour wind.

More widespread strong to severe storm development is then possible Wednesday afternoon and evening, according to the weather service. A northwest wind of 11 to 13 miles per hour can be expected with gusts up to 23 miles per hour.

Showers and thunderstorms will taper off Friday with better weather into the weekend.

Today: Sunny - high near 78 with south wind 6 to 14 miles per hour gusting as high as 24 miles per hour.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m. The risk for an isolated shower or thunderstorm will return late Wednesday.

Thursday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m., with a low of 56, according to the weather service.

Thursday is expected to be partly sunny and the warmest day of the week with a high of 85 degrees, according to the service.

Friday should reach the upper 70s under mostly cloudy skies.

Highs in the 50s are expected Monday and Tuesday, with an overnight low of 39 degrees.

Saturday, the high will be near 78 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said.
