Xiaomi Mi 6X with Android 8.1 and Snapdragon 660 Unveiled in China

The phone is also expected to sport a dual-camera set-up on the back a selfie camera with LED flashlight support on the front. It has been carved using CNC technology. Interestingly, this is Xiaomi's first smartphone that ditches 3.5mm audio jack in favour of USB Type-C port. The smartphone is said to come in 5 colour options - Cherry Powder, Red Flame, Sand Gold, Glacier Blue, and Black Stone.

The 12-megapixel secondary sensor comes with f/1.75 aperture.

In terms of optics, the handset's cameras are AI-powered with features such as smart scene detection and smart image recognition. In addition, the device can perform the translation from a foreign language in real time (from English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Indian languages). It is equipped with a soft-light LED flash.

The dual cameras are capable of capturing bokeh shots by effectively blurring the background.

Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Earlier this platform was the basis for the creation of flagship gadget Mi A1. It's expected to have a 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB of onboard storage. Its 128 GB model has 6 GB of RAM.


Battery: The Mi 6X is backed by a 3,010mAh battery, and charges over USB Type-C with support for fast charging (Quick Charge 3.0) packed in. With this, you can expect a 50% charge in 30 minutes. Also, it comes with Xiao AI voice assistant that was introduced with Mi MIX 2S in the previous month. The base variant features 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage for a price of 1,599 yuan (around Rs 16,900). Buyers can pre order the device from the company's China website and get their hands on it starting April 27.
