Google Phone may be bringing a new bottom bar redesign

However, the app now still shows up as "Android Pay" on your phone, despite it appearing as "Google Pay" through the Google Play store on the web.

Google Pay has all the features you see in Android Pay and Google Wallet except one that most people find useful, and that is peer-to-peer payments.

Google Pay is available on Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and in the USA. The Cards tab makes it easier to keep everything organized during checkout.

As we reported last month, Google is uniting all of its different payment tools under the Google Pay brand.

Google Pay seems to be doing away with the "Google Wallet" moniker as well, now placing your debit, credit, loyalty, and gift cards in - surprise! - the Cards tab. Wallet is getting a temporary rebrand as Google Pay Send until the send and receive money feature can be added to the Google Pay core app.

As we continue to expand to even more devices and services, the new app offers an exciting glimpse of what's to come.

Google is also touting Google Pay as a way to pay for public transportation with a tap-and-go sequence of the smartphone on a turnstile scanner initially in the cities of Kiev, London and Portland, Oregon, with more cities added in the near future. "We give developers a very simple API to implement Google Pay", Bhat noted, "The API is simple because we are not processing that payment".

If you already have the Android Pay app installed, it appears you won't need to do anything.

Ultimately, Google wants you to instantly consider Google Pay when making payments anywhere. Just choose Google Pay at checkout and pay with a few quick clicks instead.

With the feature enabled, any time you take a screenshot within your Google feed or when using the Google app to search, you'll see a new popup at the bottom of your screen shortly afterwards.

Business owners building sites themselves can work with Google partner Shopify to integrate Google Pay.
