The Overwatch League is nearly upon us, which means there's a lot of information to take in. And they'll cost you.

"Our fans love to engage with content on Twitch, and we wanted to drive significant viewership of the Overwatch League in its inaugural season and beyond", said Armin Zerza, chief operating officer of Blizzard Entertainment, in a statement. Total bonuses for Overwatch League teams in the first season will be $3.5 million (approximately Rs. 22 crore), with a minimum of $1 million (around Rs. 6 crore) going to the season one champion. Will you be watching on January 10th? All players have received 100 free Overwatch League tokens, which are the game's new currency system specifically for the new skins.

The inaugural season of the Overwatch League concludes with the playoffs this summer, but that isn't the end at all.

Aside from the hundreds of new skins added to Overwatch, a slew of minor bugfixes have been pushed to the game. Anyway, Blizzard has just released the official Overwatch League app for following the competitive esport's inaugural league season, giving you yet another avenue to not watch us play.

The Overwatch League and Twitch are also developing innovative rewards and other programs for fans, which will bestow the league's most steadfast viewers with unique Overwatch League in-game items with exclusives. Sources familiar with Blizzard's plans told ESPN the league has signed a deal with another Chinese broadcaster, but the partner was not specified and Activision Blizzard did not announce that on Tuesday.

Of course, you can expect a season two a year from now that will bring with it improvements and new additions.

The first season of the Overwatch League will run until June, with playoffs and finals scheduled for July. The Overwatch League in-game menu isn't just for staring at the shiny new skins - players can watch the games via this menu when they're live.

The deal is not a surprise considering that Twitch and Blizzard have a long history of collaborating for esports events.
