James and Dwyane Wade led the charge Monday on questioning the Grizzlies' firing of head coach David Fizdale, a popular assistant coach who won two National Basketball Association championships with James, Wade and the Heat in 2012 and 2013.

Memphis started off the season 7-4, but they have lost eight in a row and are now 7-12.

JB Bickerstaff will be the interim head coach for the Grizzlies.

Fizdale was announced as the Grizzlies coach in 2016 and had a 50-51 record in his two seasons at Memphis. They also have some issues with their star player, as Marc Gasol was benched for the fourth quarter on Sunday.

After a thorough evaluation, I decided a change in course was necessary to move forward and provide the team and organization its best chance at success this season and beyond, Memphis Grizzlies' general manager, Chris Wallace said in a statement today [Monday, November 27th].

"If I'm not on the floor, I'm not valued", Gasol said. But I know the type of coach Fiz is.

James and Fizdale worked together during James' time with the Miami Heat where Fizdale was an assistant under Erik Spoelstra. Like, this is what happens, you lose when your best players are out and when your whole team is wiped out. Now Fizdale is the second National Basketball Association coach fired this season, joining Earl Watson, who was sacked by Phoenix three games into the season.

The Grizzlies have lost 11 of their last 13, including the last seven without point guard Mike Conley who has been sidelined with an injury.

The Grizzlies, 7-12, will return to action on Wednesday night in San Antonio, followed by a home matchup against the Spurs on Friday.
