Announced at Blizzcon 2017 today, the next Overwatch map is modeled after a fictional Blizzard theme park (for a second I thought a real Blizzard theme park was coming) called Blizzard World. Her name is Moira and she is the latest support class hero for the popular FPS game. She is a biotic-based hero that uses her powers for either damage or healing in a moment's notice during a match.
She then also has basic abilities: Biotic Orb can either heal allies or damage enemies as it bounces around teh map, and Fade gives her the ability to teleport a short distance instantly. Whether or not Blizzard World adds much to Overwatch's story, it will be fun to fight through the gates of Stormwind without having to flag yourself for PvP.
For Overwatch players who have also played many of Blizzard's other games, the Blizzard World map is an absolute dream come true.
No word yet on when Moira will hit PTR, but expect her to be a bit controversial (just like nearly all new Overwatch characters).
Coalescence- Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.
The new map, Blizzard World, is a theme park packed with references to every other Blizzard property, from StarCraft to Lost Vikings. It is not known when these will be available on the main game, but we can hope sooner rather than later.
On top of Moira's announcement, we get another real treat, in the form of "Honor and Glory, " a brand new animated short starring Reinhardt, and showing a glimpse on his past.
The first day of BlizzCon 2017 is going on right now in Anaheim, California.
