Rodgers shines late, Packers edge Cowboys 35-31

It's hard to pin point what's wrong with the Cowboys as they have already matched last year's season loss total when they went 13-3.

As it stands, the play will be largely forgotten, and when people speak of Sunday's Packers-Cowboys game they'll remember it ending with Aaron Rodgers saving the day.

The pinpoint accuracy was there as well, especially on the drive-culminating throw to a spot where only wide receiver Davante Adams had a play. Nor should it get overshadowed by the breakout performance of rookie running back Aaron Jones.

Aaron Jones got a humbling moment when he made the Packers as the fourth-string running back: he saw "inactive" next to his name for the opening game of the season.

The Cowboys had chewed up the clock with a 17-play, 79-yard drive that used eight minutes, 43 seconds and ended with a Dak Prescott rushing touchdown from 11 yards out for a 31-28 lead. Child's play compared to what Rodgers did in January, when took over with just 35 seconds left in the divisional playoff and flung that sideline pass to Jared Cook to set up the game-winning field goal. Someone should honestly check to see who truly own AT&T Stadium.

Especially when you're playing one of the best.

Maybe, defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli should've given Jourdan Lewis some help on Davante Adams' game-winning touchdown catch?

"Obviously what you're trying to do (at the end of the game) is get stops on defense", Garrett said. "You've got to get some positive yards". The others were the Nelson touchdown two weeks ago, the 61-yard Hail Mary to Richard Rodgers at Detroit in 2015 and the touchdown to Andrew Quarless at Miami the play after the memorable fake-spike completion to Adams. The Cowboys take a record of 2-3 into their bye week.

And Wade Phillips" "D' allowing just three points off four Rams turnovers was superb and another example of the growth from these young Rams.

Rodgers lead a surgical march downfield that including three passes of 10-plus yards and an 18-yard scramble highlighting his seemingly magical ability to escape the pocket. Once in the red zone, Rodgers showed off his brilliance. The Packers overcame two missed extra points by Crosby to move in front 22-21 in the fourth quarter. He made all 36 kicks in 2015, the first year of the longer distance, but missed three last season. The play was the source of confidence this young player needed, but his immaturely celebration resulted in a 15-yard penalty. After an impressive half last week against the Chicago Bears, Jones reportedly got most of the first team reps in practice throughout the week. He has rushed for over 100-yards in all three games against the Packers. The Packers finished a paltry 3/7 on third down.

When the Dallas Cowboys lose, the blame typically lands on the shoulders of their starting quarterback. But Adams, who had had the ball knocked away on the exact same call on the previous play, wasn't going to let that happen. He ran a flawless slant, uncontested at the line of scrimmage, for his sixth of the year.

Now, they've already lost as many games before Texas-OU weekend than they did all of last season. "Don't have much else".
