With Lamarcus Joyner out, Cody Davis played 58 snaps (82 percent) - 14 more than any other Rams safety. The computer is taking the Cowboys to cover the spread, and the under on the point total. Definitely not Fisher-esque.
The Rams added a 33-yard field goal by Zeurlein, his seventh of the game, with 1:55 left in the game, moving the score to 35-30, and capping a 12-play, 68-yard drive that drained 5:16 off the clock. The 2016 defense was protected by an offense that could grind out games and not turn the ball over.
Gurley is the first Rams running back with 200-plus yards from scrimmage in a single game since Jackson posted 215 yards from scrimmage against the Atlanta Falcons in 2008. He has collected a sack and a tackle for a loss, but the Rams' defense needs more from him if they are to live up to the lofty exceptions that come when being coached by Phillips.
But the Cowboys were unable to convert the two-point conversion, leaving them still trailing, 32-31, and then they couldn't slow down the Los Angeles offense. After two incompletions, Prescott found Elliott on fourth down, but his running buddy was stopped 3 feet shy of the first-down marker. They came out the first play-I think it was a double move-it was on from there.
Two plays and one Rams penalty later and Elliott was across the goal line again, the home team up, 17-6, and seemingly cruising. He was instantly swarmed by blue defenders, limiting him a meaningless 9-yard gain and cutting off the comeback attempt. Gurley now has seven touchdowns this season and looks to be in rookie Todd Gurley form.
"He's (Gurley) a great player and ran his ass off today..." He did it all against the Cowboys this week.
-Running back Todd Gurley is re-emerging as one of the best running backs in the National Football League after rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns Sunday and adding seven catches for 94 yards and one touchdown.
According to Pro Football Focus, Smith was thrown at a game-high seven times, with the Rams receivers catching six passes for 68 yards.
"The offense did a lot of good things at times, but was not consistent enough", Dallas head coach Jason Garrett said. Buffalo's defense stopped the Falcons at the Bills 10 with less than a minute remaining when Matt Ryan couldn't complete a fourth-down pass to Taylor Gabriel, and Atlanta became the last NFC team to lose this season.
The veteran kicker has now converted 18 straight field goals. Now they have turned their attention to their game against the resurgent Los Angeles Rams on Sunday (10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, FOX, DirecTV).
As impressive as that was, had the Rams scored a touchdown instead of kicking a field goal, it would've put the game well out of reach for Dallas. Ram cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman intercepted a short pass from 49er quarterback Brian Hoyer at the San Francisco 28-yard line and returned it to the 3-yard line. "I thought we gave ourselves chances coming back after they had gone ahead, but ultimately they did more to win the game". The Rams will get their points and make it a game, but Dallas should prevail.
The win was Arizona's second overtime triumph this season - it's the first time they've had two extra-time wins in the same season since 2011, when they went 4-0 in such contests.
