Fighters with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said a Russian attack killed one of their fighters and wounded two others Monday in the Conoco natural gas field, which was taken from Islamic State fighters over the weekend.

Recently, Russian military officials took their case one step further by releasing satellite images which they believe show the uncontested mobility and stationing of United States special forces throughout and within ISIS-held territory despite being within the visual presence of jihadist militants.

Russian Federation denied carrying out an airstrike on SDF positions.

The lifting of the Deir ez-Zor blockade triggered a race between legitimate Syrian government forces and the US-backed SDF umbrella group to control the oil-rich province.

"The air raids struck several locations and villages in the district of Jisr Al Shughur, leaving 37 dead among civilians, including 12 children", observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP, updating an earlier toll of 27 dead. The Syrian forces' operation on liberating the occupied parts of the city from the militants is now underway.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry has released aerial footageof the Daesh positions north of Deir ez-Zor showing USA special forces'equipment deployed in the area.

The high-ranking military official denied information provided by the UK-based "The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" (SOHR) that Russian aircraft allegedly bombed residential areas in Idlib and slammed the reports of the organization as ungrounded.

"The death of the Russian commander is the price, the bloody price, for two-faced American policy in Syria", Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.

Russian Federation is a key sponsor of a plan to implement four "de-escalation zones" in Syria, including in Eastern Ghouta, southern Syria, central Syria and the northwest of the country.

"The American side declares that it is interested in the elimination of I.S. [ISIS] ... but some of its actions show it is doing the opposite and that some political and geopolitical goals are more important for Washington", he was quoted as saying.

The advances against Islamic State have brought USA -backed forces and the Syrian government side, backed by Russian Federation and Iran, into close proximity.

At least seven Russian soldiers have been killed, and Russia's Defence Ministry acknowledged that one of its generals was killed in the area on Sunday.
