Xbox One X 'Project Scorpio Edition' could be on the way

The images show a clear "Project Scorpio" embedded vertically on the Xbox controller, along with a stippled pattern for the rectangular console itself.

Project Scorpio was teased in 2016 and is the name of the Xbox capable of playing 4K and virtual reality games.

The Day One Edition featured flashy accents that set it apart from the regular Xbox One, including "Day One 2013" stamped on the controller.

"We don't have anything to announce today, but are looking forward to sharing more about Xbox One X with gamescom just around the corner", a Microsoft spokesperson stated, as reported by CNET.

This Project Scorpio Edition was leaked by German game retailers Saturn and MediaMarkt (via Xbox Dynasty and The Verge).

Still it'll be nice to get a range of launch titles for the console, even if it's not technically a brand-spanking-new piece of kit. The console also appears to have a texture, unlike the standard version.

While we should take this with a grain of salt until Microsoft makes an announcement, this looks legit. We are not able to confirm this as the does not list the Xbox One X 1TB Day One Edition anymore. Phil Spencer claimed a few weeks back that they would be live soon but it looks like the company is saving the exact date for Gamescom, which Microsoft will be attending this year. It is highly believed that the upgraded console will finally be made available for pre-order at the event.
