"But as a breast cancer survivor it's just a fun way to use that and spread the word of what relay for life and American Cancer Society can actually do for you", says Amanda Terry, Hero of Hope of Relay for Life.
The goal was to raise $72,000 dollars.
According to Amy Collins, a creative director with the five-person film crew that was on hand, the Greene County Relay for Life was one of only four Relay events nationwide to be chosen for the filming.
Teams of volunteers were still on the track later Saturday morning, helping the American Cancer Society and cancer victims close to these participants.
Collins noted that a film crew was also on hand at this year's Relay for Life in Johnson City.
In total about 800 registered participants took part in the event this year, they added.
Teams walk the track Friday evening at the 21st Annual Stutsman County Relay for Life. "Another one of our fantastic volunteers, Tina Aulabaugh of Brewster, previous year organized a team and took part in the Patterson Relay".
Funds that are raised and donations made all go to cancer research and education, patient help or support and treatment programs.
Mariann Shook, organizer of the event for 2016 and 2017, was recognized and applauded for her service and efforts in bringing Relay for Life to Hoisington. For more information visit relayforlife.org/GoshenNY or call Kris Revelle at 234-8853.
