Welcome to the National Basketball Association, now 'how do you want to die?'

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant said this week that all top prospects should forego the Combine.

"That I can really guard", he said.

"I know he doesn't have an agent, but whoever is counseling him not to play five-on-five I think is playing it correctly, and if you did your homework on him as an National Basketball Association scout during his high school career and Summer League career, then you know he's one of the most athletic guys in this draft", Fraschilla said. "I had my supporting cast, my family, my coaches". "I'm here to be a basketball player".

Fox and Fultz are likely the two best players at the Draft Combine with Lonzo Ball and Josh Jackson choosing not to attend the combine. If that's how it plays out, Mason might have preferred to go earlier, but as he was reminded this week, there could be worse things in life.

"Stay your (expletive) home, work out and get better on your own time", Durant said regarding the trend of elite players skipping the draft combine.

"I knew he was going to declare, but I was surprised with him signing an agent right away", Thornwell said, "but that's my guy and that's my brother". "I knew that for sure".

"I think I've matured a little over this past year, mentally and physically", Jackson said.

As many in his corner had pointed out previously, however, Williams also was quick to point to Mason's intangible qualities, which Oklahoma City Thunder coach Billy Donovan also said could play a big role in the draft. "At the end of the day, the Bulls are a great organization already but if I'm blessed to be drafted by them or whoever it might be, I can add a few things to it". It still doesn't matter. "I kind of knew that was my last ride, but that doesn't stop my competitive juices from flowing". Players like Jackson, who some see as a late lottery pick or mid-first rounder, might be looking to rise to the top 10. "That tells you a lot about the significance of that (stuff)".

That's actually incredibly insightful.

Jackson is among 67 players at the NBA Draft Combine this week at Quest Multisport.

As a former NBA MVP, Durant's comments were a major talking point at the combine, but no player in attendance seemed willing to speak out against the event.

Still, Durant has painful memories of failing to bench-press 185 pounds at the combine.

Fultz will become one of those NBA players who you forget even played college basketball, but he was a Husky and he should go number one overall in the draft. He also exhibited more of his signature self-awareness in assessing his physical strengths and weakness as it stands today. Hopefully his success in the wake of that weird criticism has changed the way scouts approach similar situations 10-years later. So don't play. Then if someone takes him in the lottery, I will retire. "(Shoot), you may go No. 1. Fultz probably won't handle the ball as much as he's accustomed to if he plays alongside Simmons, who will assume the point guard duties. "That mentality may get him drafted in the first round".
