Katy Perry took to Twitter on Thursday (11May17) to heap praise on Miley Cyrus' new track Malibu. "I want to talk to people in a compassionate, understanding way - which people aren't doing". A month or two [ago] she sent me a picture and I said, "You look so happy.' I'm here [as her dad], and she's beaming with happiness".
To further prove that their relationship is as steadfast as ever, and to make you ugly-cry all day, Liam shot Miley's lovely cover art for her single.
"Kids of the 2000s who grew up watching Hannah Montana on Disney, you're going to be immensely overwhelmed by Miley Cyrus" latest single.
Look, it's not Wrecking Ball but as far as rootsy songs go, it's not too bad.
"I think she just found... she's firing off all cylinders".
Cyrus promised her upcoming music would be different than what we've come to expect from the superstar and she was right. "Her unbelievable talent and impressive pledge on pop culture are undeniable", Mark Bracco, executive producer of the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, said in a statement.
With the cycles of pop-culture shape-shifting being what they are, the normalization of Miley Cyrus is long overdue.
"As a dad, I see Miley really just functioning on, like, a figure and a joy for life".
